Same. My son was always 99th for height /weight. Eventually he stopped growing and everyone else caught up.

No, he's 5'9" at 18, but was on a lot of medication throughout life, so that could be a factor.

Height is helpful in life. I don't know what to tell you. People want their kid to have every possible advantage.

Do you think parent heights play more of a factor than where a kid is in their percentile curve early on?

Kid is 5 and in the 99th percentile. Mom is 5’8 and dad is 5’10”. Both sides of family have tall family members (over 6’ tall).

There’s a lot of variance around puberty. My ds, who was top of the height chart from birth through elementary school, was average height compared to other boys in middle school. Then he had a huge growth spurt in the last year and he is now a 6’ tall high school freshman and much taller than his friends.

I personally fell off the curve. Was the tallest girl in elementary school and stopped growing at 5'4". I was just early. People caught up and surpassed me in middle at high school

Mine was never 99th but stayed mostly aligned with their curve. 5'11ish at 15 and has always been in the 70s. Same with weight (closer to 50s).

Mine is 11 now, and has fallen off the curve a bit. Same happened with an older brother who was always 50th %, so I'm curious to see if he will grow a ton in the next few years. Relatives are 6'4".

If your kid was still in the 99th percentile for height by the age of 5 did they stay in that height percentile their whole life?
