+1 this should really be funded outside of the MCPS budget. The county has mental health services, they should provide it.
They have a very minimal amount and impossible to get care from.

Let's keep the cuts going then since MCPS also provides occupational and physical therapy to children and students with IEPs from age 3 to 21. Or does this position bother you because it serves immigrant children? Should we cut PPWs as well? School Psychologists? Not provide ANY services?
It's 26 counselors for the whole county, they only serve students who truly need this service, we're not talking about an extra position in each school.

Of course he needs to request more money. The price of everything is increasing including labor, benefits, maintaining facilities, etc.
