Why don't you trip around the eastern shore. Check out the wildlife at Chincoteague.

On the main USNA camp page they have two hotel specials: Doubletree Annapolis 20% off, and Westin Annapolis at $115

Both are good options.

Oh god no. Especially not a woman alone. I’m confused though, are you looking for a place to vacation? Because Baltimore is not it!

Wr have stayed at Courtyard mentioned above when taking sailing lessons. It's fine.

White marsh is gross. What are you planning to do there for 5 days. We stayed there for a baseball tournament and there was a guard. Do not recommend. They probably house homeless people there. Maybe the economy lodge in falls Arlington near the east falls church metro? It’s definitely a motel and bare bones but at least it’s safe and you can walk to metro and go into dc easily.

Motels aren't an option for safety purposes, and I do prefer to stay with a recognized chain (I'm Titanium at Marriott, but understood about White Marsh).

Honestly, I just plan on working remotely if I can't find an area with anything to do. Tourist stuff isn't required at all.

This is probably 2 hours from DC.

Did you look at the hotels near Annapolis? I work in the area. The cheapest non-refundable rates for the Courtyard by Marriott in Annapolis/Parole would be under $700 for five nights in June.

Look across the bridge into the Eastern Shore near Kent Island or Easton, Bowie, or up into Towson.

Where is the hotel you found? If it's on Rt 50 near DC that's a bad area.

Will you have a car, or are you looking for somewhere near public transportation?

DD's are attending swim camp at the Naval Academy, and I can't find good plane tickets to get home and back, so I guess I'll make it a mini-vacation. We have tons of travel planned for the summer, so budge is an issue. The cheapest decent hotel I can find is $700 for 5 nights, so that's my goal. Definitely under $1k. I don't need to be near Annapolis - maybe a two-hour radius? Any suggestions of where I could look? I'll be a woman traveling alone, so safety is a big concern.
