I think that 3.4% includes all the program funds.

If they turn down federal funds they would have to either cut Headstart, Title I funding, and free lunches or find money somewhere else.

The easiest cut would be for capital improvement I guess because it wouldn't impact day to day teaching as much but it's going to be really hard to find that much money in cuts.

Doesn't MCPS get more for things like free and reduced lunch and for IEPs or does that 3.4% include those things too?

This just applies to DoD schools. Everything from West Point all the way down to the on base elementary schools.


No, the latest order is to all school districts, not just DoD.
At risk of losing federal funding if they don’t drop DEI in the next two weeks. Curious to see how Maryland and mcps respond.

Not OP but this is relevant given Trump's directive from the Education department to schools, to eliminate DEI or they will lose funding. This could impact MCPS if they decide to take a stand.
