So no one has seen Companion yet? I hope it will make next year’s Oscar nominations … i think it came out too late for this year’s Oscars.
It is a sci-fi dark comedy about a young woman who discovers her boyfriend is abusive. It explores themes of social inequalities, use of IT to compensate for modern loneliness, self-empowerment and how to leave an abusive relationship.

Subject: Is there a thread on Companion movie yet? (Can’t find any)
Are there posts on the 2025 movie Companion yet? If so, please ignore - I could not find any threads.Very high critic and audience reviews on RT and they earned the praise.
I am not usually a horror fan but this was so clever, full of twists, thought-provoking and engaging.
The lead Sophie Thatcher was brilliant while nepobaby Jack Quaid was surprisingly fun and
diabolical in unassuming way.
Won’t spoil the plot — it was good to go in blind/ not knowing what to expect (if you like surprises).
