We got two PK4 offers OOB from Deal feeders a few years ago, so anything can happen. Make your list with your true preferences and have a plan you can live with if you don't get offers.

seaton you might have a chance because they are moving to swing space in another year or two. (i'm in bounds for seaton but lotteried to thomson for prek3 because i did not want to deal with a mid-elementary school move.)

Same! We had to wait until the week before school started, but my son worked through his waitlist to my number one spot days before school started. Good luck and hope you get in to a great school!

You totally do have a chance. Since PK4 class size is bigger than PK3 class size in DCPS, many schools are looking to replace all PK3s who leave and then gain at least 2 more kids. Since most siblings of current students got in for PK3, the backfill seats and additional seats are more likely to be available for no-preference kids.

PK 4 is tough, but I you’re nearly guaranteed a slot at Tubman. That hasn’t been true every year for PK4 IB, but we’re in a swing space this year so under enrolled. My PK3 daughter is there now and her class (which could have 16) only has 10 kids.

PK is fab at Tubman. Both teachers are great. I bet your kid will have a great experience and you’ll get to meet a ton of neighborhood families (like ours!)

At a school like Oyster-Adams, you don't have a chance out of bounds, but you would certainly have a chance at many of the schools on your list. When looking at the data, you can take a look at historic waitlist offers as well. Dorothy Height, for example, seems like they've cleared their PK4 waitlist the past few years. Garrison also seems like they went pretty deep into their PK4 waitlist the past few years.
