Ir means l have to find a hotel that is suitable for them, and they are also very frugal. They will insist on paying so we’ll end up staying somewhere like a holiday inn surrounded by parking lots. For my birthday l wanted a fun walkable location and boutique hotel. It’s just completely changed the nature of the trip. It’s not for me any more, it’s for them. I spend 99% of my efforts for my family and at work, l just wanted a fun birthday.Anonymous wrote:If they’re as old and immobile as you say they will probably stay in the room most of the time so what difference does it make?

I grew up in another country and was planning to celebrate my upcoming milestone birthday with just my sister, my only child and her only child, in a location that is a direct flight for both of us. For an easy and fun long weekend. I usually pay for the lodging when we meet up like this because l make more than her, and we split everything else. She invited my elderly parents without asking me. My mom has low mobility and my dad is a grumpy old man. I was already planning to visit them a couple of months after my birthday, which my sister knows.
I’m so pissed she did this. I want to cancel my birthday trip.
