I am all new to this. So the SAI is the number they think you should be able to afford for college?

My SAI is $106,000 and I am middle class. They want me to pay 50 percent in my income for college

When and how would we know if our student is getting FAFSA aid?

Your student should receive the annual FASFA loans. For freshman, $5500 and it goes up a little each year.

Donut holes should be able to pay $21k out of savings and income. Take loans, have your kid work summers, cut back, get a second job.

We live in America. Take a loan and roll the dice. I hate knowing that even once noble professions like education are now big money games with life long negative consequences.

As most here, we are a donut hole family- though lower than most. Does Maryland give any financial aid if you don't qualify for the Pell grant, or is it basically only financial aid for those families? We are in state with an SAI of 21,000- so low but not low enough. Also, does anyone know when the financial aid statements will come out?
