Classic cycle of exploiting the poor by requiring college, give them big indentured debts, then say we have not enough jobs or pay to pay your debts, then say we need your monthly payments, perfect scam

All first world countries fund their universities. It's part of what makes for great civilizations.

Exactly. All of you people who thought it “just” applied to race are now learning it’s going to impact our most vulnerable kids the hardest.

You understand how financial aid and research grants work right?

This is a program that will help to ensure we have special educators. Whose responsibility do you think that should be? When universities give grants or scholarships to nurses, because of the serious nurse shortage, should that not happen either? You okay with being sick and your nurse in the ICU having a 1:5 patient ratio instead of 1:2?

Exactly. Even if it doesn't affect you or your family firsthand, it will affect your kids if they are at a school that's understaffed. What do you think happens when schools can't staff special ed positions? I will tell you. The kids who need services don't get them and it is stressful for everyone. I wouldn't get too smug about vouchers and private or charter schools, either. Some of them have laughably bad curriculum and staff with no experience working with children. Everyone thinks their child will have no problem getting accepted at a top tier one until they're competing against hundreds of other kids who are equally qualified.

Hope none of your kids, or any of your family or friends' kids, ever need special education accommodations in their academic career.

That PP does not care about other people. Russell Vought’s own daughter with CP isn’t choking to death on her own saliva right now thanks to a new drug that came about from NIH funded research but he’s happily destroying that institution. To paraphrase someone else, they will burn this country to the ground si they can say they own the ashes.

I just read an article about several universities cancelling their grant funding for special ed certification mid semester. This will make coursework costs out of reach for some of the already small group of people interested in teaching sped. Yay america. Now, even more kids won't get services, more gen Ed teachers will get burnt out too and more classrooms will remain unstaffed.
