No, this is a real poster who sends her kids to a school she hates.

They have a free holiday every year around this time, OP. You know this.

Have you communicated your disappointment directly to the school?

Do you mean the day off that was this past Monday? Or a future day off?

^^ and we rarely ever have a school week that's not a full 5 days. Compare to FCPS. Half the year is less than 5 day weeks.

You’re kidding right? Rarely?

Education scmeducation. Everyone should just become priests or nuns. 180 days of school per year is total overkill for that.

I guess it’s fortunate that public is always an option then.

Wasn’t there an up-in-arms post this time last year about a school having a day off in celebration of whoever won last year’s shindig?

It happens. Deal.

And I say this as someone with kids in Catholic schoolsl: when you choose Catholic school you are actively choosing to emphasize certain aspects of culture over religion. You don't choose them for all-caps academics. If you are surprised by that, I'm guessing you are not Catholic or did not grow up in a midwestern or northeastern Catholic community!

Vivek’s infamous tweet was dead-on accurate and applies perfectly to this diocese.

Why would anyone pay tuition for a school that prioritizes a random NFL team over learning and academics. Pathetic.

Not joking.

Between that and all the snow days, not to mention the assemblies, the parties, mass sometimes 2x a week, etc etc, perhaps they’ll find time for ACADEMICS one of these days! Maybe?

(Standing by for all the excuses and apologists to post snarky remarks abut why I should just leave the school (rather than addressing the substantive issue))….

The “check notes” thing is so corny. Give it up.
