The Biltmore is indeed open again. Biltmore Village was decimated but you can now drive through it again, only a couple of streets are still closed. Swannanoa River Road is the biggest remaining road closure in the city.

I know people who really like the Omni Asheville.

This is where we stayed (and we liked the lodging itself), but I don't recommend it to you, as it was a drive to downtown.

Asheville is a little weird - everything is spread out and we drove everywhere. We liked a restaurant in West Asheville area that PP mentioned.

I like a lot of places, but didn't love Asheville. I hope you have a great trip though! We went in July 2024, so before the floods - haven't been back since and I don't necessarily plan to go back unless I need to be in the area for something else.

I like West Asheville and Richmond Hill neighborhoods if you go Airbnb. Richmond Hill is very quiet and residential. A bit more going on in West Asheville.

Thank you. They’re still recovering from the hurricane for sure. Hopefully some local can answer and give you current information.

We stayed here and had a lovely visit. It's a little on the outer limits of downtown, but we were able to walk to a lot of brewerys/micropubs. The downtown isn't very big and you can walk from one side to the other in 20 minutes.

I'd stay as close to the downtown area as possible so you can walk to restaurants/shops.

I'll be going next fall for a three night trip with three other women. We love food, drinks, live music. We are doing a hike one day at the state park about 50 mins away, but we'd like to make Asheville our homebase. I'm a little confused about the best area to stay. When I'm looking at airbnb's, they're all over the place. What area/neighborhood should I focus on. Also, if there is a particular hotel anyone would recommend, I'd take those as an option too.

Thanks!
