Yes it is fine and the Sahara experience is incredible.

We did the Sahara tour and it was amazing. They need to go with a reputable company/guide. Right before we arrived in Morocco two Scandinavian women were murdered in the mountains while hiking/camping but that was rare, apparently. And, I felt 100% safe the entire time we were in Morococco. The people were absolutely lovely everywhere we went. It’s a beautuful country!

Yes, it’s an amazing experience and really safe if they go with a reputable tour group. I did the Sahara tour from Fes with two young kids a few years ago and never felt unsafe at all. We had four bars of cell phone reception in the middle of the Sahara while we watched the sunset after our camel ride. It’s very touristed despite being remote.

This is a strange report. It headlines about lack of safety for solo women travellers but the text only refers to violence within families and doesn’t mention anything about travellers.

I mean, how are you going to stop them. Are you funding it?

If it's with a large tour group, then it should be ok. Just make sure they stick together. Better if there is a male in the group.

Agree with this. Marrakesh safer than Fes. Make sure they ask lots of questions/research the tour guide/service on the web etc. Would look for one that has website/reviews---not just the first "guide with camel" that they meet. There are lots of Sahara "glamping" tours where can ride a camel overnight to a desert camp, have dinner, spend the night and then come back.

PP here.. that sounds amazing, but I would be a bit worried about roaming bandits. I'm a risk averse person. But, I would definitely go to Morocco with DH.

How old is she?

Sounds like it would be with a group? If she is 18 or older then yes.

I would not let mine go. One could get lucky, but pretty risky.

DD is studying abroad. Friends and her want to go on a 3 day tour of Sahara Desert from Marrakesh.

Would you let her go? Some other parents are saying no
