There She Goes is a British tv show about a child with a rare genetic disorder that is written by a real life dad who has lived it. She has severe developmental delays. It perfectly encapsulates what life is like for parents in the severe world and how the parents have to laugh so they don’t just cry all the time. The young actress is incredible. I think you can get it through Britbox. But this is not a show where it all ends well and the kid with disabilities has friends and works in a grocery store.

You are seeing several Korean drama recommendations here. If you are open to foreign language subtitled shows there really are some excellent kdramas that thoughtfully consider autism in particular.

I love both Love on the Spectrum and As We See It

In It's Okay to be Not Okay, one of the main characters is an adult with autism, and the female protagonist has (iirc) a personality disorder. The male protagonist is a caretaker in a mental health institution, and we see backstories of many of the characters (who are all presented very sympathetically).

I was happy to find "Light of my Lion" on Netflix, a very sweet Japanese series about an office worker who looks after his young adult autistic brother and one day finds a little boy on his doorstep and decides to look after him too. The main plot revolves around the identity of the little boy and why his mother left him there, but the autism of the young adult is also a major part of the story.

I happened to stumble upon a show on Netflix tonight called The Mothers of Penguins, which despite being about a Polish MMA fighter, really seemed to capture SN parent life. I'm not sure if I've seen anything comparable in English-language media. I'm recommending the show and asking for similar titles to screen.
