I don’t take commands from anyone, not even my parents. If you want me to do something, you will either request it with a “please” versus commanding it, or you aren’t going to get what you want from me, or even a response.

Have you ever talked to her about it? My mom had really poor text etiquette and use of emojis until my siblings and I explained how it came across. Like all caps all the time.

How about you check messages from her once a day only. Tell her if she sends more than one message a day, you'll likely miss the others.

“I forgot to put something in the mail for Valentine’s Day so buy the kids something for me”

Like, no more. Any texts like that, I am just flat-out ignoring going forward. Maybe she’ll figure it out and add a “please” or some niceties. Or not. Over her nonsense.
