All of these changes are pretty recent, from DA to MLSN, and even the ENCL itself is hardly ancient.
Hopefully ENCL figures out a competitive offering - whatever that might look like - more of a tie up with USL for example; or they'll die as a top tier league on the boys side.

I watched the extended highlights on youtube of this game... there were a lot of good goals by VDA.
VDA s ranked #10 in the country for the 2008 age group and SYC MLS Next is ranked #88 in the country.
A lot of the VDA players were bigger in the video and just overmatched the SYC players. And I have to wonder if SYC was trying out some younger players in that match? Not sure.
It would be great if they somehow faced off one more time before that age group graduates and the kids go their separate ways.

It’s clear the pipeline is there. ECNL cannot say the same.
An Academy is going to take a kid from ECNL just as quickly as a kid from a nonAcademy MLSNext team. The MLS kids get a longer season and the chance to play some better teams, but honestly no better pipeline, dumbest fight ever. U16 MLSNext nonAcademy Dad.
