Almost the entire coast of Maine- so much to do, great seafood & beautiful scenery. Also love various quaint towns of Vermont & New Hampshire. I lean towards the "laid back & scenic" parts of New England versus "uppity & pretentious" (Nantucket, Newport, etc)

White Mountains in the summer. Great hiking, cooler weather, general outdoorsy vibe.
Boston in the summer. The cold of winter up there is a little too much for me, but originally from there so love visiting my family, all the history, roaming around Harvard Square, etc.
The Cape in shoulder season. Want there to still be seafood available and places open, but I will pass on summer bridge traffic! HP and Chatham are my favorites.

Vermont. We used to live in Quechee (right next to Woodstock) and it is such a beautiful area summer through first week of October and winter. Hiking, swimming holes, skiing, snowshoeing, river floating, quaint towns,
breweries, some great farm-to-table fare, covered bridges.. By the time we left in 2014 "leaf peeping" season was already getting crazy, and I imagine it's gotten even worse now. But hopefully other times of year are still worthwhile (just avoid mud season and stick season)

Cape Cod and the islands in the shoulder season. It's beautiful, lots of quaint little towns, good seafood and fun to explore all the different beaches.
