We like Squirrel Hill, Lawrenceville, and Oakland

What do you want to be close to? I recently had a good stay at the Evan, walkable to the stadium which is what we needed. Walkable to museums and restaurants and one of the more affordable options. It served our purposes for a day of exploring and a concert.

Depends on where you plan to spend time! Downtown, the Omni and Hotel Monaco are great. Good spot to stay if you want general convenience and easy access to North Shore and Strip District. The Oaklander Hotel, right by Pitt/CMU, is also a great hotel and a good location for Carnegie museums, Squirrel Hill, and Shadyside access. You’d find a lot more green spaces that feel space for hanging out and running around if your kids are younger.

Loved the Fairmont there; suites are nice and spacious for families.

The Duquesne Club. Great rooms, great location, reasonable prices.

Yes, Oakland. I lived in Pittsburgh some years ago. And, we have an Oakton area (in my current town) so I was confused.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel Monaco a few years ago. Good restaurant + breakfast grab and go spot. Walking to the strip, arenas, and rest of downtown

We stayed here. It is in an older garden apartment block that has been renovated. Got a two bedroom with a full kitchen and a living area.

They don't do short term rentals anymore sadly.
