PP you replied. You're funny. I've had multiple miscarriages, because I'm high risk, and every time I've been pregnant, my OB has ordered a series of HCGs.
It's an important monitoring tool, it's not a treatment or cure.
You want to see my blood tests or something?

NP, sure, that’s reasonable before you can visualize structures on an ultrasound (although 6 is a lot). Once you can see structure on an ultrasound, the standard of care is serial ultrasounds, normally 1-2 weeks apart.

OP sorry for the fact you are in this situation. It’s so hard being in limbo. One day here or there can make a huge difference, that’s why my RE doesn’t like to schedule until middle to the end of the 6th week (I understand you didn’t know exact date of conception). Equipment sensitivity can also make a huge difference, so depending on the type of ultrasound and quality people might see different things. I think you have a reason to be hopeful!

That's the best thing to do, OP. The nausea is a good sign.

For me personally, I did not have a good outcome with my no-heartbeat at 6 weeks pregnancies, but many people do. The wait is so stressful-stay hydrated, rest if needed. Best of luck to you, I mean that.

Np but you can order this for yourself at labcorp...that's how I spotted my 2nd miscarraige. This is totally normal process in fertility world and had to do it my 3 other pregnancies but when pregnant naturally and timing wasn't matching my initial beta I did a repeat at labcorp...bleeding began a couple days after but confirmed it first on hcg

I’m a different poster but my OB does this for me early on in pregnancy. And it is my second pregnancy.

I did 2 HCG draws 48 hours apart as soon as I got my positive pregnancy test.

I think I it’s a good sign they saw a fetal pole fwiw and that you aren’t sure of your dates. You are probably just looking a few days early.

So stressful. One of my kids I saw the heartbeat at 5w2d and the other, IVF so I was positive of dates, didn’t see it until a week later. You aren’t out yet. Sorry they are making you wait two weeks. Hopefully the morning sickness will kick in and you’ll have an idea of how things are going.

At my 6w appointment, I had two yolk sacs, only one had a fetal pole, and there were no heartbeats. At my 7w appointment, there were 2 heartbeats. I ended up with 2 healthy babies.

Thank you for your response! I’m so glad you got to eventually see the HB.

I just want to add that I’m not completely sure how far along I am as I have no idea when I ovulated since I didn’t track anything and I have irregular periods. So I guess they measured according to the size of the sac.

I’m sorry you are in limbo OP. With my child, we didn’t see a HB at 6+1 or 2. We came back a week later and did. It’s a good sign you can see the fetal pole and sac.

I did an ultrasound at 6w+1 or possibly just 6 weeks and doctor found a sac, yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. The doctor didn’t seem concerned but told me to come back after two weeks for the heartbeat. I asked if I should do a repeat HCG test and she told me that I didn’t need to do that and just wait for the next ultrasound.

I’m feeling very nervous now especially since I’ve been reading that so many people see a heartbeat at 6 weeks! Should I prepare for the worst?
