Has anyone received any news about being top rank in the waitlist or about movements? If so, for which schools? My DS is waitlisted for Dalton and Collegiate.

A lot of times, there is a lot of movement before the deadline because of the yield protection.

Has anyone received call / email for being next in line today? I have no information or update yet and am frustrated

Ask your PSD about specific timing. Each school will do things differently.

Collegiate’s deadline was today so they are moving to waitlist for sure.

I am just curious if people feel surprised by the wait list decisions and whether they were consistent with feedback from their PSD or not

At my child’s school (one of the two the OP is referencing): yes

Have to read the contracts but most don't go to a full year until April/May/June depending on the school

Highly coveted spots at 2 of the most popular schools.

C will go to their waitlist (which I would imagine has very few spots if any) Monday afternoon into Tuesday; their response deadline is Monday @ noon for parent responses.

Riverdale may start to go to their waitlist the middle of next week, but their response deadline isn’t until Thursday.

It could be sensible to put a deposit down at another school on Thursday (before the deadline), and then continue to stay in front of both schools if they are your top choices after the deadline date in case something opens up.

I don’t think anyone would have the complete picture or information. What does your PSD say? Is there better chance with one school over other?

My friend got accepted to one of the schools above and was about send the deposit when she was contacted from another school that she was off the WL. She was so surprised and went with that school. So things do move quite a bit.

I could see both moving (they definitely moved last year). What school are you currently accepted to?

Do you have a back up? They sometimes move but who knows where you fit in the wait pool. A similarly situated child would need to decline.
