Everyone is different. That was the perfect time for us to travel. Kid wasn't mobile yet and we could stick them in a pack n' play anywhere. Now doing it the second time with a 2 year old and 5 month old wasn't the brightest idea but it wasn't because of the baby-she was a piece of cake.

PP here. True - everyone is different. I didn't say not to book the trip - but rather to make sure it's refundable. Because until that baby actually gets here (especially if it's your first) you have NO idea whether this trip is a good idea for your family. There is just no way to know.

LOL to mountain biking when you’re traveling with a 4 month old

I’d go to Arizona. Easy travel, no international complications, great for outdoor activities.

Intergenerational travel with 4 month old, warm destination in January, with plenty of outdoor activities, like hiking, mountain biking, and a good medical system?
I don’t see Europe because of time difference, but what about US virgin islands, Scottsdale, or somewhere Southern California inland?
Ideally, we’d rent a house.
Hawaii seems far from east coast.
What’s the medical system like on other Caribbean islands, eg Netherlands Antilles or somewhere of British VIs?
