How does your child do with online classes? Most business students at UF will have at least one (if not two or three) online classes every semester for the first two years. You can look up the required courses online and search through the course catalog to see how many classes are 80-90% online if not exclusively online.

UF or the state?

The state and just general distrust of what they could do in schools and how that may impact reputation down the road.

IU, but I strongly dislike Florida so I’m biased.

I think recruiting will be the same for accounting major. All Big 4 will recruit from these schools. As long as you get your CPA, you can go anywhere (Chicago, NY, LA and FL).

Kelley hands down. If your child is a female, Kelley even more so.

If your kid is an accounting major, I don't see a big difference between the two. Both schools are top 10 in accounting. I do believe UF have a slight edge with CPA passing percentage. Acceptance to UF is amazing from OOS, probably in teens with so many apps. This is the first year UF went EA, they probably want to get back to top 5 national public university.

Both awesome options. Visit in the winter and see which one your student prefers!

UF- at least in Florida, the name of UF goes a long way. Congrats on your kid getting in- I read that they received over 90,000 applications this year.

Kelley and it isn’t even close. Look at the Business School rankings and reputation. It is not even close.

IU Kelley might be better business school but UF is better rank overall. It also depends on the weather and overall student experiences.

What does your kid want to do? Ceiling is higher at Kelley and accounting/finance are pretty strong there. Career services are very strong. But if your kid is content to work for an F500 or Big 4, I would choose based on other factors about the two universities. Also depends on any merit money but I assume Florida is decently cheaper.

From someone in Florida, UF has a reputation for being very cut throat and competitive, and it can be hard to switch majors. No input about Indiana.
