When I went to London, I remember how hard the water was and how it affected my hair? Could the hard water be the blame for this and what do you all do to cope with this, especially given I will be in Germany for a while?

Maybe you shouldn't be washing it for hours?

OP here. It is greasy even a few hours after my shower

I swear this happens to me wherever I travel. It’s like all hotels have insanely hard water. I can bring all my regular styling products and shampoo/conditioner and do nothing different in my routine and my hair WILL look weird. I dread washing it on vacation or trips.

My expat friends in London would trade shampoos to see what would work, because whatever we’d brought from home wasn’t effective. It was a common complaint when folks first moved there. We’d buy sample sizes and just do trial and error.

I live in a state with very hard water and it agrees with my thin frizzy hair as well.

OP maybe try a clarifying shampoo? I use that every so often to remove buildup.

I know that the shampoo I took to England didn't lather. I had to buy some local stuff.
