Schools typically don’t give As or Bs in elementary school. There are usually a large list of things in the different subjects that they are working on. They might have checks to whether the students is on target or meeting goal or working towards goals, etc.

As or B type grades are useless in the lower grades.

My 2nd grader has had two report cards. What kind of grades are expected at this age? Does everyone get all As? Is a B or below common? What kind of student did your kid turn out to be if they were on either side of the spectrum (great student -> poor grades). Are they even calculated based on tests or just the teachers gut feeling?
