We loved 30A, too! I agree, the past few times we visited in April it was quite windy & cool and we only had one day where there was not a red flag. There were so many large groups of teens on spring break with their family/friends. If you can go in May or June, I think 30A (Watercolor, Seaside, Rosemary Beach) would be a great fit.

Have you considered flying into Phoenix? Plenty to do and they have lots of good resorts with pools and kid activities.

Panama City Beach has tons of great options. Several resorts have lazy rivers, zero entry pools, kiddie pools, etc. good restaurants down there (Captain Andersons is a must). And the ocean should be warm enough for splashing in the surf at the edges.

Fort Lauderdale for the win. Fort Myers and Sanibel have not yet recovered from the hurricane. And I LOVE Sanibel Island.

I suggested Amelia Island - it would be fine for us in April. Not Jan - Feb. but same applies to 30a area. It’s also further north.

30a is where you want to be. The area was recently named the Hamptons of the south. Google rosemary and Alys

We go to Orlando and stay at the ritz or JW (same property) every March. Pools are heated and weather is always beautiful.

OP here - thanks for the ideas so far! PP had a good point - we do want it to be warm enough to swim in the pool and splash in the waves at the beach, so maybe southern FL is the best bet.

What kind of temperatures do you prefer? Amelia Island that PP recommended is nice but the average is 68 to 70 in April. Is that going to be warm enough for your kids to go to the beach/pool?

Omni Amelia island - fly into Jacksonville

Looking for pools, beach access, family oriented activities and restaurants. Preferably with suites available that have a separate bedroom. Does not have to be luxury - open to a range of price points, although we will be traveling in April so want to avoid college student spring break vibe. Either coast of FL is fine but nearby airport with a direct flight from DC. Looking for somewhere easy with plenty to do for 5-6 days - will be traveling with 2 young kids and a baby. Thanks for any ideas!
