Alexandria bad it's been bad for a long while but yeah the whole area of NOVA is there is an increase in crime, accidents because people are driving like maniacs since the police stopped ticketing in 2020 it's a free for all, every red light has 3-4 people running it. It's just not a safe and comfortable place to live. Now there will be less jobs. I think a lot of people will beat feet out of the area soon. It's not worth the high price of living here for the hassle and crime.

I noticed crime picking up in Arlington after the election. Getting nest eggs to take back home?

Heading to be a ghetto? We are already there when was the last te you drive through the west end of Alexandria, culmore, rt 7, annandale, rt 236? Its eye opening.

Even nicer areas like lake barcroft they're having a hard time selling the houses. In the city of Alexandria its stagnant. There are million dollar new build single family houses just sitting there no takers. Yet property tax is through the roof. Go figure.

Ummm, rates are at 7%. That's why everythng is sitting.

Alexandria's lackadaisical approach to crime is highly concerning as is renaming crimes like murder and homicide to death by mob or suspicious death to avoid any accountability in crime reports is diabolical.

There was another robbery by gunpoint in broad daylight on Captain's Row in Old town yesterday. The area is currently pretty much packed with law enforcement because of the air plane crash, 3 parks along the waterfront are closed and being monitored and yet crime is still an issue. APD Communications Manager Tracy Walker says there is "no identifying information" about the suspect, however residents have commented that the police scanner traffic "at 1:23 PM the dispatch states "caller robbed at gunpoint, looking for a black male, left in a dark gray Ford sedan." Two minutes later she says "caller is advising the vehicle went south on Lee St., possible Maryland plates. Driver of the vehicle was wearing a mask and all black clothing, wearing a ski mask."

So as a current resident I'm concerned about the increase in crime in the city and now the police that seem to be hiding information from the general public. This is the city that is all about "transparency." They are not being transparent in the current crime situations in the city.
