Expect to pay about $300-400 a night without parking for a room in manhattan for a branded hotel. It is more midweek like Tuesday though sat, Sunday night is cheapest.

Use booking.com or google for a map if need be, but book directly with the hotel and not through Expedia or booking, com for the best rates and the right to change or cancel more easily.

The Sheraton Times Square is not the greatest but usually has some good deals. There’s a Fairfield inn near Carnegie hall as well, on 58th.

Go on booking.com, use their map feature to control for walking distance to Carnegie, and look at the prices for the surrounding hotels. The prices are in constant flux and your goal is to look at them for a while and snag a good price. They will all be fine. Depending on orientation (if the room is on a wider, busier street), some might be noisier than others, but it’s hard to control for that during booking.

Good advice. Because it's right in midtown, it's also very accessible via the subway, so there are a number of places that would be within a 20 minute total commute.

I’m taking my teen to a performance at a Carnegie Hall next month and am looking for reasonably priced options. I’d welcome any suggestions from recent visits to NYC. It’s a quick trip and we do not need luxury— just a clean, safe place.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
