part of the issue is we paid up front for the whole semester. Not sure we can switch. Ends in May I think.

We’ve had great experiences with “pros yo you”. They are at many clubs in the area.

We are in Fairfax county and DC is 8 and has been doing lessons at Burke. Long story short, DC is not enjoying it at all because the coach is not friendly and only gives critical feedback and no encouragement. Tennis is a difficult sport to learn as it is so I was disappointed to hear this.

My question, is this what I can expect of this sport (that people just aren't that nice)? Or any sport for that matter? I didn't do much sports as a kid but we are relatively athletic and I enjoy learning/playing tennis with DC. I want DC to learn and skill and have fun being active, first and foremost. If DC got half decent that might be nice but it's not a requirement. I'm not trying to pressure my kid to be a sports star.

DC does say that there are instructors who sub who are much nicer than the class instructor, fwiw. Just curious what others' experiences have been (at Burke or junior programs elsewhere).
