The HOV lane isn't actually enforced, OP. Everyone drives in it.

If they get rid of the tolls, it will become another 66. No thank you.

If this were a federal issue (which, as someone else pointed out, it isn't), EVs in HOV might be an exception given that someone close to the administration has an interest in selling EVs and these folks are as corrupt as the day is long.

Nope. Despite this, they are discontinuing federal funding for road-side chargers across the nation's highways.

because someone already owns a nationwide (fed subsidized) network of chargers and related car company?

Wait till metro funding comes up. Metro will be totally defunded by the Feds.

If everyone is RTO there will be more cars inside the beltway at rush hour vs miles of road- gridlock.

HOV rules are not set at the Federal level.

Maryland used to allow those with EVs to use HOV lane, and you got a special permit to put on your bumper. They discontinued it a few years ago, then started it up again:

A buddy mentioned that as of this fall, he and other EV owners will no longer be able to drive in the HOV lane with a single driver. Is this accurate? I do not own an EV, but the traffic is getting BAD, and I presume that having all of those EVs back in the right three lanes with everyone else and not moving smoothly through the HOV lane is just going to add to the gridlock. Would prefer this just continue.
