I am kind of the opposite, as I think sports teams should be mandatory at school. Plenty of independent schools have that requirement, unlike the public schools. I think that participating on a sports team can teach kids a lot of valuable skills and lessons.

Do you consider golf, tennis, Xcountry...team sports? Sure, you play on a team, but your performance is not dependent upon your teammates' performance (other than doubles for tennis).

Those count for the independent school requirement.

I enjoy my own kid's games but detest MLB. It's way too boring, too many games, etc.

It's the only sport where Moneyball tactics made the game less interesting vs. football (more emphasis on passing, going for it on 4th down) and basketball (value of the 3 pointer, fast breaks).

My son is a senior and this will be the last season we go to all of his games, etc. He is going to play D3 ball next year so it isn’t the end of baseball, but the end of an era for us.

I think DH and I may need to coach a little league team next year when our son is gone. I need an excuse to go hang out on baseball fields.

Me! It's my son's senior year and I can't wait. He's going to be a captain and lead-off hitter (fingers crossed). It's the cumulation of 10 years of club baseball, high school baseball and hundreds of games...

My son played 7 years of Little League and this upcoming season would have been his last. He's decided not to play and I'm THRILLED. The last 3 years were miserable for him because he's just a perfectly fine player who is there to be with his friends and play a game (IE what LL should be). I'm sure to no ones shock it's become the exact opposite of that and I am proud of him for deciding on his own to step away.

I love watching my son play and taking him to games. I love having a built in opportunity to see my friends. We are only rec so it’s not a huge amount of time.

I can't wait. It's my favorite time of year. It's my favorite sport. I love the game. I love the ballpark.

The thought of baseball ⚾⚾⚾ an all American sport is getting me through the next few weeks.
