Who was paying?

Your kid has had time facing reality and fears your judgment of them. You all probably need to see family therapist to learn some new behaviors.

My kid actually did that. It took a couple years and put him back on track. Now he works as a pharmacist. Difficult time for us as a family.

The parents should question how out of touch they were with their kid that they never saw a college ID, the kid on any of the college websites students use, the kid gaining knowledge in any particular subject, met any of the kid's college friends, etc.

Ooo there was a dateline about this and he murdered his parents when it was all about to come out. Or at least one parent, I forget.

If nobody paid into it, it's better than them enrolling and flunking out.

It's like adults who fake going to work after they've been laid off. It happens a lot more than you think. Therapy is in order to address the reasons why they did not attend, and why they lied about it.

What would you do if your child faked going to college all fall (while living at home)? I mean - faked going to class, studying! Ultimately the truth came out, but what is the path forward?
