Posting to ask the same question for 2026. I went to a place in college park and there was zero ventilation. Then the manicurist got out a microplane grater for my feet!!! I declined. I was horrified and could not breathe. They had super massage chairs and thorough manicurists otherwise. But even with a mask and a sweater I could smell awful chemicals.
Where can I go in MD and DC?

Not in DC, but I had the best manicure at Lansdowne in Leesburg. I don’t know how, but they got all the dead skin off. My feet were so smooth.

Just got one at Sugar House in Old Town Alexandria. Wonderful experience—lots of extra touches and pampering.

NIB (Nothing In Between) is pretty great. I've been to the Tysons and Falls Church locations, and I think there is another in Alexandria.

And I recommend Kay for facials at the Tysons location if you are ever looking for something in addition to a pedi.
