There are 200+ republican congressmen, it would be pretty expensive for him to get them all out if the core group sticks together. Excluding the extremists from the equation, of course.
The time to act is now, not closer to the midterms. Do I think they’ll do anything? Of course not!

This is true, but if things get bad enough someone backed by Musk might have trouble winning in a purple district.
If Musk doesn't put his finger on "elections".

Typically only a small number of career officials control Treasury’s payment systems. Run by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, the sensitive systems control the flow of more than $6 trillion annually to households, businesses and more nationwide.
