Office Space: Not enough space, but expect a wave of retirement, and there will be space for local remote workers (like me), so RTO 5 days/week is just a matter of time. There may be shutdown in March, too much chaos.
Once I receive notification of RTO, then I will take annual leave for some weeks, and use the time on applying for private sector job (remote or at least 2-3 days work from home).
How long will job application likely take in private sector? Is one month enough?
Do not bet on a 'wave of retirement' as many of those eligible to retire cannot afford to retire. Also understand that many positions of retired individuals will not be filled.
Do not assume that private jobs exist that match Federal pay and benefits. or frankly, exist.

Your time will be better spent getting a game plan on how to go into your office.
