I think fish is good for this. Cooks quickly and most adults eat it. Combine with some sides like the almond one green beans, a pilaf or roasted potatoes, salad, etc.

There was a recipe in the Post yesterday for instant pot short ribs. You could serve it with mashed potatoes or polenta and a salad.

If guests eat pork, pork tenderloin is always a bit fancy and super easy.

Steaks or chops on the grill are always a hit. Add a sauce like chimichurri, a salad and mashed or smashed or baked potatoes with the trimmings and you're good.

Chicken Piccata is pretty simple and comes together quickly. I serve it over couscous with either shaved brussels or asparagus (because they both taste great with the lemony sauce).

Yes, green beans with slivered almonds are for some reason, awesome.

Post 01/30/2025 15:13     Subject: dinner for friends, what to cook

I’d like to start inviting friends to our house for dinner more often. Adults only (our kids are teens and have their own evening plans or else are away at college). I’m looking for some fresh ideas of what to cook. Please no suggestions of [tacos, lasagana, enchiladas, etc] - I make those often when my
teens are home. Looking for foods a little nicer, but at the same time not too fancy, as I want to be able to do this regularly so can’t involve a day of prepping. Thanks for any ideas.
