It is so, so boring.

You’re not allowed to visit the real Cuba, and it’s very hard to get off the island. It can take days or weeks to get a flight if you are not a VIP.

You are stuck inside a small fenced-in military base.

Hell no

+1. Trump now wants to send 30k migrants (“the worst of the worst”) there while clearly there is not enough space. Does not sound like a good place to be in the near future

Yes, I enjoyed my time there! Plenty to do on base and beautiful scenery. Great experience for a young person

I know some people who worked down there.as contractors. There's more down there than you'd think, hence why they need teachers.

This is important for a young woman to know.

+1

Also, not sure why she would want to even go near that place given all the war crimes that went on there. I'd be concerned about her callousness to think it would be fun.

I would be more concerned that with all the craziness with Fed jobs her job gets eliminated quickly.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the location.

I would be very concerned myself. All you can do is ask questions though. At 27 it’s unlikely she will react well to unasked for advice.

No, the teachers I know who have gone there leave as fast as they can. The plus side would be that she could move to another DoD school later.

So my adult daughter, who is 27, is potentially moving to Cuba to become a teacher for DoDEA at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. "It sounds like an adventure!", she says.

I'm kind of freaking out - help!
