I had a couple jobs where they went back through ALL my education, and I was in school when some of it was paper records. No clue how they found it and don’t really want to know. So it definitely can follow you.

They cannot rely on this assessment alone for placement as it’s not required and some kids opt out.

What % of kids is opting out of district assessment? Most of the time kids and parents aren’t even aware that they are coming up.

I don’t know the % but there are always several that do. It’s the parent’s right to opt out so I don’t ask a lot of questions.

They look at 5th grade district (sounds like hunger games) assessments when your kid applies for law school too! Make sure they sleep well night before and eat a healthy breakfast.

We are in 7th, so this is dated -- but they told us they did look at performance on the Eureka District Assessments, in addition to grades and MAP-M scores, for determination on math placement. For those in 5th grade math, it's used to help decide between 6 and 6+. For those in 5/6, it helps determine 6+ vs. AIM/7+ placement.

Is it used for placement for next year?

District assessments I think are in every grade. They ensure that all kids are tested on the same subjects to track whether and how much they are mastering grade-level content/standards.

It's a test. A test tests knowledge. That is the purpose. The assessments are good

What is the purpose of the district assessment given to 5th graders in reading? Thanks
