It was $750 on Delta (Basic Economy, but I have the Delta Amex so I still get priority boarding and a checked bag.) Travel days are Thursday-Sunday. I live in NYC, which I guess tends to be cheaper than DC, but I felt like it was reasonable.
I guess it depends on your budget and what you’re willing to do. If you’re only looking at nonstops, fares might be high from DC around then, especially if you’re booking now.
But if budget is a concern, you could also consider a low-cost airline (if you’re willing to travel light) or flying out of the NYC area. I’ve both flown French Bee from EWR and Norse from JFK and found them to be totally fine. Because they’re budget carriers, they also leave around midnight ET, which gives you time to get up there.
That’s not peak spring break timing though. OP will likely encounter higher fares as she needs to travel nearer to Easter since the majority of schools, even public ones, still tie their breaks to Easter.
