True. These guys are welchers. And once you’ve resigned, you have no MSPB appeal rights. They are not going to honor a contract. Trump breaks contracts all the time and hopes you settle for pennies on the dollar.

It’s not as good as if they officially RIF you. If you wait for the government to lay you off, you will be given more than this.

Unless you are retiring or you really can’t figure out RTO, it doesn’t make much sense

i'm not a government employee so I don't know what the norm is but this sounds pretty good to me. Last time I was let go, I was given like 2 months severance.

Did you expect this administration to have half a brain? I already know 3 people who had announced planned retirement since the New Year. Senior folks. Their plan was to spend down annual leave and separate in mid 2025

They will absolutely take this offer, leave the agency in Feb, get paid until Sept. They get paid out all their annual leave.

This is dumb helicopter money to already well-to-do Feds on CSRS with plenty of appreciated assets.

Most of my office are coming back and not resigning anyway. What does a buyout do when you are unemployed?

If you really have barriers to returning, it takes longer to find a job than two weeks. It’s not worth being unemployed while they cut services around us
