Smcs has VERY limited movement, they over invite kids( typically 70-75 kids) and 60 or so will accept. So movement is at minimal from the waitpool. Maybe 1 or 2 from the waitlist.
For global there is a lot of movement. The first wave of acceptances were today, second wave of acceptances will happen in probably 1 month after they have reviewed the rejections from the first wave. The third wave is approximately 1 month after the second wave. Beyond that there is not much movement. Obviously the secod wave of acceptance will be greater than the third wave of acceptances. Global receives a good amount of rejections bc people from all over the county apply just to “see” if they get accepted. But many probably will not go because of the logistics to get to Poolesville. If a student is coming from Silver Spring, his bus ride might be 1.5-2 hours long! That would deter most kids.
Is this true that they offer more than actual seats ? In that case, it seems unfair for students on waitlist.
