There is a nice little zoo at the Jardin des Plantes.

The Rodin Museum has a great kids audio guide that was set up like a scavenger hunt.

My 7 year old and I stayed in St. Germain and went to at least one different playground a day to keep things interesting. The playground at the Jardin du Luxembourg is for pay, but very nice; Tuileries is great before or after the Louvre; on the way to the Marais, there is the Nelson Mandela park with a PG, one although the one for older kids was closed at the time. I would combine PG with neighborhood wandering as every neighborhood has at least one good PG (e.g. there are at least two in front of the Musee Marmottan, in addition to the huge Bois de Boulogne). We also went to the one in front of Bon Marche. She loved the Eiffel Tower and the bateau mouche at night. At the Louvre, she focused on the Mona Lisa but after that neither of us really wanted to see paintings (I've been several times to the Louvre and we live in Italy) but we really enjoyed the Middle Eastern and Persian archaeological pieces.

Bumping this up as we are also going soon with 2 kids under 10 and trying to get my itinerary in order. We'll have 3 full days in Paris (followed by a day at Disney). Staying in St Germain/Latin Quarter area. So far, we have tickets booked for the Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay (different days). Other places we want to visit are Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Luxembourg Gardens, Tuileries Gardens, and I think the kids would enjoy seine river cruise. Any suggestions on how best to group day-byday activities? Anything else we should add? I'd like to do some neighborhood wandering in general but the kids are less into wandering- they always want to know where we are going next- so would appreciate any suggestions for neighborhoods that have a lot going on and interesitng shops/markets.

I'm a PP, but forgot to mention there's always Disneyland Paris. Obviously, it's not right in the center, but easy to get to via train and, if your child is a fan of anything Disney, it's one of those might as well do it while you're there things.

Lots of great suggestions already. My kids also liked the Seine boat ride (there is one that is a snacking cruise with kids goodie bags with coloring books, ect.). My kids liked the playground near the Eiffel tower, actually really liked Sainte-chapel (not for long though) and were really pumped to see the Mona Lisa (we did not spend long at the Louvre!).

There's lots of great kids books to help learn about Paris and get excited. One that my boys have really loved is "A walk in Paris". All the Madeline books of course, and "Roger the Liger in Paris"...we actually found that one in the Louvre gift shop in English! One of my kids got into Miraculous - the cartoon kids show that is set in Paris.

Highly recommend Eternelle Notre Dame, the vr experience that shows the building and restoration over the centuries of the cathedral. It was incredibly well done and made the cathedral come to life for my kids in new ways. I was skeptical but it was really a highlight of our trip.
Kids also loved the Musee d’Orsay, seine boat ride, the water lilies at l’Orangerie and just wandering eating crepes and ice cream.

Our kids were 10 and 13 when we went. They loved wandering around and just experiencing Paris. We tried a night bus tour to see everything lit up, but they just don’t love bus tours. We ended up jumping off of it midway through. The best thing we did was a Context Tour private tour of the Louvre. It was geared towards kids, got us through the lines, and made the visit so much more interesting to our kids. Expensive, but worth the splurge. Skipping the lines alone made it worthwhile.

Does anyone have recommendations for a local family photographer?

My kids (7 and 9), surprisingly, loved the children's area in Musee d'Orsay. Other highlights were the Catacombs, a walking food tour, and the playground at Tuileries Garden.

There are other threads about this if you search, bute Jardin d'Acclimatation, an amusement park with so much charm, I always say this was the highlight of our trip with our kids.

Traveling to Paris for a week in April with our one 7yo DS. Any recs for activities, museums, restaurants, anything really? He's been to Europe before and is a good/easy traveler.
