OP, there is a very simple answer for this. Most babies wake up because they’re hungry. Then cry because they’re hungry.

Your worries about your baby hating you, and the general tone of your post, have a little concerned about postpartum depression. It sounds like you need some help and support. Do you need any help getting help? This board can point you to resources.

It is normal for babies, toddlers preschoolers to wake up cranky.

Your baby does not have complicated feels. Human babies are still basically fetuses when they are born. A baby horse can get up and walk around within an hour of being born. Do not over-analyze baby

If your baby has regained birth weight you do not need to log anything anymore.

Your post screams post partum depression and anxiety (no judgment from me, I've had both more than once)

Almost everything you read about what babies can think or understand is absolute bs.

Like anyone who repeats that nonsense about “babies don’t have object permanence so they think you disappear at night” you should never listen to again.

OP, you are doing great! Your baby seems like a typically developing infant. They all do things like this. One day this phase will have passed and it will be something else to wonder about. Good for you for getting help for your PPD! The meds will take a few weeks to kick in. You will start feeling better. (virtual hug)

All normal. Also weirdly, my kid hated high contrast clothing and red. She's scream if I wore stark black and white patterns or red. Their eyes are still developing. You could also try changing up shampoos and lotions. Babies and weirdly sensitive.
We used an app to track food and diapers and naps.

Thanks I'm trying to not take her fussiness and behavior personally. I just started meds for PPD hopefully it helps soon

Take care of yourself ❤️ not the same, but my firstborn would not breastfeed and screamed at the breast for 6 weeks until I gave up trying. He’s 6 years old now and a total mamas boy. My three year old only wanted me as an infant, then only wanted my husband, and now only wants me again. You’ll find that kids go through phases and it usually has very little to do with the parents so don’t take it personally.

OP hugs. My son rejected me and only wanted his dad in the newborn days it hurts so much. I almost died giving birth and his behavior although unintentional was painful and to make matter worse he rejected breast milk at 3m and only took formula. All this got me into major PPD. Happy to report now he is 15m, loves his mom and we are best buds. It gets better and so fun! I love him so much...

My son often slept in his car seat or stroller during the newborn phase, we did what we could to get some rest. I stopped tracking sleep, poop, feed at 8 m.

1. Does my baby hate me? She screams bloody murder when she sees me as she wakes from a nap. We contact nap sometimes on the couch or laying in bed. I'm awake the whole time. But she usually falls asleep in her little chair or with me rocking her and then we move to the bed. She snuggles in for a nap and then opens her eyes and screams at me. It's so hurtful! I feel personally rejected. I'm trying to tell myself she woke up somewhere different than she fell asleep, she slept through her 3hr feeding alarm, she's probably hungry, she might be too warm from body heat. But it's so hard to see social media reels of babies waking up and looking adoringly at their mom's and cooing and smiling and my 4 mth old sees me and screams like hell.

2. Someone told me babies can't hate someone or have complex feelings due to plasticity of their brains? Can someone explain this to me? I know I'm projecting projection and feelings on to a baby who just wants to eat, sleep and play but would love to know the basics- when baby starts to have more complex feelings, what they can process. I'm afraid she's scared of me or hates me or something.

3. How long did you log diapers, feeds, and sleep?

4. Is okay for baby to nap in the car seat if it's in the stroller base and presumably at the correct angle? If she just fell asleep and we just get home could we let her nap there while we are in the same room. We haven't yet but curious. If in the base and not on the floor if it's okay

5. When did your babies roll over both ways and sit up independently?
