In a bar, no. I'm a huge Philly fan. I was in Philly for the Phillies WS win, the first SB appearance against the Pats, the SB win against the Pats, and was there for the last SB game against the chiefs.

First off, I think I spent almost $1000+ alone on myself to watch a game at a bar in downtown when we played KC. Every bar is going to gouge the crap out of you for tickets. It was honestly quite miserable, and SO loud. Just wall to wall people jam packed like sardines. It is not fun when you have to pee.

After the eagles won the SB against the Pats, it honestly wasn't that bad. The scariest win was when the Phillies won in '08. The crowds got way too rowdy and riot police started coming while glass bottles were raining down from absolutely everywhere. When the eagles won, there was a lot of noise and cheer, but it just didn't get as out of hand as when the Phillies won.

I won't be going up there this time. I'm just too old for that nonsense. Hotel prices will be through the roof. I just do not want to drop another $1000 going up there for it. If you want atmosphere, consider going to a mainline bar somewhere. Tickets will probably be cheaper.

Absolutely not, unless you want your children subjected to drunk people screaming, cursing, throwing stuff.

Invite friends over so the kids can wander off when they get bored.

Personally, when I care about a game I want to watch it at home. I don’t get wanting to go somewhere where the TV is inevitably smaller and it’s noisy, and the kids get bored or need to go to bathroom or whatever. You definitely watch less of the game.
Hosting a Super Bowl party would be the best option, I would think. Going to a random sports bar with 3 kids would not be it.

No a 4 year old won’t sit for hours and watch the Super Bowl, plus it’s late at night.

Agreed, that crowd is going to be very drunk. There will be fights, at a minimum and do you want your kids around the vomit and piss of a large drunk crowd?

No, I live in the Philly burbs. If you were going to a Philly friend’s house for a party, sure, bring kids. But some of the fans who will be out on the streets are rough. Where will you be, in a hotel room? I was in the city last night during the game, and was telling my teens to give a lot of space to the drunk adults in Eagles gear who were ahead of us. It doesn’t feel fun to me, it feels like someone is going to start a fight.

No way. It's going to be chaos and really hard to watch your kids and the game. I'd stay home and have people over or if you really want to go out, go to a Philly bar where you live.

I was originally thinking a sports bar in the suburbs would have just the vibe you need. You don't need them on Broad Street (until they are 16/17).
BUT if the Eagles loose that is going to be really depressing and sad. Like, funeral level. it might be better to hype it up at home and to keep instagram up and watch for safe images

Op - yes but for special occasions 4 year old has been known to stay up with older siblings. Not questioning bedtime. Asking about going to Philly for the game. Being in the city surrounded by all the same fans is the experience we want. Just sort of worried about crowds and minimally worried about violence.

We are huge eagles fans - would you take your young kids (3 of them between ages of 4-10) to Philly to watch the game? We obviously aren’t going to the Super Bowl but thought it would be fun to watch in the city with all the fans. But I am a bit worried about trying to watch the 3 kids while also watching the game. And the crowds.
