FWIW - I think a combination of clinics run by the various clubs in the area and one-on-one lessons will be far more beneficial than camps. Depending on what and where you do it, it may even come out to be about the same price overall (either way, it's not cheap).

There is a huge difference between the JV and the varsity team in our school About half of the JV players started club volleyball during middle school. A couple of the freshmen were good enough to make it on the varsity team roster. The rest of the JV team had either some rec experience or they were really tall. Some of the JV players start playing club during HS to improve their chances of making the varsity team. The varsity team has only the best club players and some bench warmers who might be relatively good in their club, but there is no room for rec players. If your school is as competitive as ours, consider club volleyball rather than camps.

Is she playing on a club team now? To make a HS team, she should be playing as much as possible with skills training to improve where needed. Camps are not a guarantee that she'll improve.

I’m not talking about high school camps that are run by highschoolers teaching beginner volleyball.
Reston/Herndon/Tyson‘s area preferred.

While it depends somewhat on the particular school, making a varsity or even JV team at many local high schools has gotten really challenging with far more girls trying out than can be on the team. So many girls are playing club volleyball these days, most that make high school teams are the ones playing club.

In terms of your question, many of the local volleyball clubs have summer programs although most don't have their dates for 2025 available yet. MOJO is in the Tyson's/Mclean area https://www.mojovolleyballacademy.com/. VA Elite is in Great Falls https://www.vaelite.com/summer-program Paramount is in Manassas https://www.paramountvbc.com/

Some of the local colleges have volleyball camps - in northern VA maybe look at George Mason or Marymount.

Go to the camp offered by her high school, if there is one, so she can meet the coaches. In our experiences they are using the camps to look for players. Other than that, you are better off spending the money on private lessons.
