PP Yes. Within the past two years. The school and SESES staff has been transformative

Have you had a child on there recently? I ask because a lot of these programs have been gutted recently and have crazy high numbers with students who should be in non public placements rather than in SESES.

My child went from mainstream to SESES starting with grade 4. It is a pretty lengthy process, do you know where your child is in that process? You can request to observe or at least visit. They resisted but we got them to agree to see us after school one day to better understand the program. For us it was disappointing how little they are actually kept separated- they are still mainstreamed most of the day which wasn’t helpful as my child needed smaller classes. After 5th he switched to RICA which was much better for his needs.

I think this would depend on why they aren’t spending time in the classroom currently.

My child is being evaluated soon for a different placement within MCPS. The least restrictive environment currently with IEP is within the general student population, however, they spend no time in the classroom setting; Has anyone gone through this scenario and where did your child get placed? Did you find it helpful? I believe SESES is an option. We are down county.
