Yuck. Those items are so unhealthy! How about trying some real food like oranges, apples, brie with baguette, yoghurt with home made jams?

We always have fresh fruits, crudité plates, cured organic meats, a variety of cheeses, home made jams and marmalades, and of course fresh baguettes or breads.

Ask her what she would like you to buy...why are you asking us? I will say you had plenty of options.

Your snacks are fine. I’d add ramen and pizza.

Soy is one of the most common allergens.

And? A teen is old enough to know if they can’t eat the edamame or not.

I also have 15 and 17 year olds and they have friends over all the time. (Nearly every day someone is here). But we have fewer snack varieties than you do. My default is popcorn.

We are an ingredient house, I don’t take that as a dig at all. One of my kids’ favorite things to do with their friends is bake cookies or brownies that they then eat.

Ask your kids what they like to eat at their friends' houses, and what they'd like you to have on hand at home. They're old enough to communicate and write things on the shopping list. Go to the source, OP.

I also keep chomps and some sort of fruit snack/gummy bear option around. They keep for a long time if your hosting is infrequent.

Ha ha ha

I assume this is a troll post, but if not, I would have laughed in DD’s face. You’re not an ingredient household will all those processed snacks around.

Your daughter is being a snot. You have plenty of snacks. Sorry, this is part social media problem. You are an “ingredient household” if you don’t have a giant cornucopia of processed snack food available at all times, plus various frozen junk food and always willing to allow takeout if thru can’t find something suitable at home already made for them.

We have teens over all the time and I just keep a variety of individual bagged snacks in the same place so the kids know where they are if they are hungry. And I keep the fridge stocked with canned drinks. I try to have frozen pizza on hand as well.

I have never had anyone complain. In fact, we are the gathering house because we always have snacks/soda.

I have two teens, 15 and 17. They don’t invite friends over a lot. Maybe once every other week. If that. Sometimes we go a month without having someone over. The last time my dd had friends over she said we didn’t have any snacks, that we are an “ingredient household”

We had pre-wrapped rice Krispy treats, a big box of cheezits, individual bags of pop corners, and granola bars. Also Microwave butter popcorn. Various popsicles and ice cream bars in the freezer. If we had gone to the store recently I would have also had potato chips and pretzels, but the kids (and dad) had already gone through the bags we had. Is this not ok?

If my kids entertained more then I would be happy to buy more. But they don’t. And I think we have a good balance of processed vs healthy foods at home, they can get junkier stuff out and about. We go out as a family for ice cream sometimes, I’m not an almond mom.

If you only have intermittent teen guests; what do you keep on hand?
