When I grew up in Florida, going in state was basically free with Bright Futures so a lot of kids stayed. So UF was incredibly popular even among the high stats kids because free.


That is still the case, more so than ever with OOS and private costs rising. It's hard to get into, and so is FSU. Hard to turn down a free ride.

I would put it on level with Alabama and Ole Miss. If that's the level you are looking at, I've heard kids love it.

It is not comparable to UF.

So even now in a much more competitive landscape people look down on FSU?

Do you know about it? What is the reputation nationwide? In-state many prefer FSU to UF despite the ranking difference due to general atmosphere, but wondering about elsewhere.
