Hp elite is only good for early years for ball skills and shooting. All there course devolve into this. once your kid is 10-12 find a private trainer.

i agree. love hp for reps but they are hardly actually coaching during the sessions.

not sure you watch the same clinics as I do. coaches are on top of the kids. that said they understand that focusing on form too much delays progress, it is a balance act. golf instructor quote really??

Agree with the above and I'll also add. Most classes they dedicated time to 1v1 scenarios. So even if it's a class that encourages dribbling and beating defenders the kids will have to be defenders against the other players.

There are a lot of reps so each kid will attack and defend over and over again. My kid plays defense and they've always given lots of advice to defenders about the proper technique and positioning to take on the attacker

Your kid is a field player, not a defender. Pick something focused on ball mastery or all-around player development (either w/ HP or elsewhere).

A couple things…

1. transitioning from attacking to defending would be good - that’s the life of a defender

2. How old is your kid? If you are u11 or younger, I would think that any class would still be helpful. Knowing how someone is going to set up and time a shot allows you to plan defensively.

For those of you who have done training through HP Elite, i don’t see any training that would be good for defenders. It’s hard for a non soccer player to tell from the descriptions, but is there one im missing that would help with overall technique? Something like shooting and finishing doesn’t seem applicable. Thanks.
