I like their normal cheesecake. Nice and dense.

I just ordered a chocolate chip cookie cake from Wegman's for a bday this week, I hope it's tasty. Good tip on the red velvet, thanks.

Their chocolate raspberry cake is the bomb. Seriously try this cake. It is moist and the fresh raspberries make it killer. It also isn't overwhelmingly chocolate. Some cakes have so much heavy chocolate that they are too much. Not this. It is heaven.

I don’t understand the appeal of a red velvet cake. The food coloring gives it a medicinal taste.

Last time I had it the cake was dry.

The mousse cake is the way to go.

I actually really love their triple chocolate mousse cake. It's excellent and actually gluten free too.

That said, I'm glad you found a good one and reported back OP. A good velvet is rare indeed.

Wegmans claims to be using beet extract.

add to it-fruit tart at giant (better than any bakery fruit tart i’ve ever had and it’s literally like $9 for a huge one)

chantilly cake from whole foods. I think most of whole foods cakes are dry and tasteless but this one is a star. And so so much cheaper than fancy bakery cakes.

Giant Bakery is the last ditch resort when you have no other choice. Their baked goods are flavorless and dry. You are better off buying entemann’s. Wegmans Bakery is so much better as is the rest of the store. I avoid Giant for pretty much everthjng except paper goods and on sale orange juice.

cool story.

Agree. It's literally a poor person's cake. In Europe you'll never find anything like it, because we always believe that if you are going to enjoy a dessert, it needs to be a proper one or none at all.

Gross. So much artificial red dye. Even my children refuse to eat it.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Wegmans red velvet cake. It was excellent, and half the price of the (very good) red velvet cake I got a few weeks ago at the Bakeshop in Arlington.
