Thanks! We are at Canaan — I didn’t want to disparage them but it’s abut run down now.

30 minute drive from slopes is definitely doable with teens — we have young kids so that would get old fast (where are my gloves mom…)

This lady is not going to Utah. She’s balking at $300/night hotel rooms.

Lol, there are other skiing threads on here where folks spend 10-20K for a week in Utah.

I mean, I assume you know what you are paying per night now

No she said it in past tense. “So we spent the MLK weekend at a ski resort”.

It was pleasant skiing, far shorter lines than whitetail, liberty, roundup day trips.

However, the hotel was $300/night which seems insane. Is that the going rate for Wisp or Blue Knob or Bear Creek, I know it’s a holiday weekend but still..

Is this typical or are we booking poorly ( I booked in November)?

Should we consider flying to say Canada for even better skiing and maybe not that much high cost??

$300/night seems insanely cheap for MLK weekend. That’s what you mean right?

After you get plane tickets, rental car, convert travel time into time wasted, I doubt you would come out any better. Was the hotel fully booked for mlk and is that the reason you booked back in November? If so, that answers your question about $300 a night.

4 hours!!!!

You are 4 miles from DC? There’s also this inauguration thing going on this weekend which may be affecting hotel prices.
