There are more than you know. Sorry you did not kiss ass with your school's administrators et al. Find out why kid not placed in pool. You have a RIGHT to know if they met every "criteria" (well, except that you didn't kiss ass). And what about the race you identify with, were the kids who were placed and selected same or different than your kid (yes we did just go all up in there with race b/c no one wants to bring it up!)?
NP here. I have had three kids in the magnets and no one would ever, ever, ever describe me as someone who “kisses ass” with the administrators.
It’s bizarre that so much nefarious intent is assumed.
Which race are you claiming benefits, btw? I genuinely am not sure what you are suggesting and the program itself is fairly diverse.
Good for you you didn't need to kiss ass.
Why don't YOU tell here what race 3 kids from same family are?

+1. The exceptional kids are 99%. Sometimes 99% for several grades up
Yet kids who were not even 95th have been placed in a "lottery" and been selected from that "lottery"

you or your family are not lawyers, are you? They scared of lawyer families. or
let's say just as an example, your family is Jewish and your school's administrators or counselors of the school are also, so they will push them to be selected because let's say they have a person in Central Office who oversees the "lottery" who formerly worked in their school.
Or let's say your next door neighbor's older kid was selected to that magnet and their friend was too and you three families are good friends so they will place younger siblings of those older selected magnet students in "lottery" and because they know person at Central office, those three students from same school will be selected - you know via a "lottery" 🙄
So you know it's just FARMS, that's all, just farms why your kid didn't get selected.
Contact Central office to find out why they weren't in lottery.
Appeal.
Sue if needed.
You won't sleep while you're in the system.
There have been cases of giving kid a test that was not fill in blanks (NYT article ran a piece on this)
An administrator did "something" so kid didn't meet "criteria" BS. People do not talk about these situations. It has happened.
